The US presidential election of 2008 will be an historic event. Either a black man or a woman will be elected to high office for the first time in the nation's history. However, that is of little consequence to the importance of the Amercians selecting a leader who can restorehope and promise to a nation buckling under enormous debt, a virtual recession and wars it cannot win. America has lost its place in the world as a power and a leader and its respect globally has plummeted.
The decision is crucial...who is best to handle the economy, jobs growth, tax relief, climate change, the oil crisis, the education problem of declining performance, the inaffordability of healthcare, the retreat from Iraq, the hunt for Bin Laden and so it goes...
